Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist Internship
DASA is now providing internships to recreation therapy students who are pursuing their Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist license under a CTRS supervisor.
In this internship, DASA provides recreation therapy students hands-on training to be successful in an adaptive sports program setting.
Therapeutic Recreation Interns assist in all aspects of programs and administration. They are supervised by a Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist while performing tasks as outlined by the National Council for Therapeutic Recreation Certification. Based on experience, the intern may also serve in a leadership role, as an instructor or facilitator. Interns also provide information on current trends in therapeutic recreation services, through projects, presentations, and staff in-services.
As an intern, you will be able to write an individualized plan of care for athletes based on assessed strengths and needs. This plan would include goals, objectives, and intervention strategies aimed at fostering desirable and necessary outcomes.
“Our interns add new energy and excitement to our athletes’ routines and help DASA in countless ways as we all work togther to positively impact lives.” – DASA Staff
